Late post but better late than never! Sorry for the long and sudden hiatus but I am happy to be back! The NYC Vegetarian Food Festival 2014 was a blast! As always, a ton of fun to check out new foods and try yummy samples! The second I heard Sweet Maresa’s was going to be there was so excited. I am a HUGE French Macaron fan and to see that there were going to be vegan ones there, it was my first stop and I bought far, far too many! They are delectable and amazing and everything you can possibly imagine and more! I tried all the flavors that were available and Cherry Vanilla was my favorite! Although there were some textural issues, I didn’t mind because hello vegan + french macarons!

I loved this drink by Cell-nique! It was delicious and had a whole day’s serving of fruits and veggies! Definitely going to buy some in the future.Oh my god and VSPOT empanadas are to die for! I seen them at last year’s festival but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to try them but I’m glad I did now! I had the Philly Empanada and just yum! So creamy and delicious. Cute button! And all hail vegan sushi because Beyond Sushi is amazing! This is another one of those things where I’ve been dreaming and trying and hadn’t gotten the chance to yet. Definitely lived up to its hype! I got the spicy mang and the only thing I would wished for would be for it to be spicier!
Honorable Mentions (only because I was too busy eating to take a picture!)
Soul Kofa because their vegan fried chicken was AMAZING like above and beyond any vegan chicken I have ever tried. I wish would have gotten a picture because it looks as real as it tastes. I could not even believe how good it tasted. I could go on and on about how delicious it was but Ill stop now haha.
DF Mavens Ice cream is one of a kind. I ended up buying two pints; Mocha Almond Chip and the Key Lime and man I can’t even. I always say this about this ice cream but a big problem with vegan ice cream is that there tends to either be a bad aftertaste or the milk base is overly prominent and the flavor doesn’t really shine but with DF Mavens none of that happens. Pure, ice cream goodness all around!
Overall, an amazing day at the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival 2014 with tons of yummy food!
